But, but, but prone is a camper skill I use it all the time with SDM :D well as for the temporary buff, you could do something either increase the dmg by more % after prone lasting like for 5-10 sec or a boost effect after staying proned for several seconds which would increase several or a certain stat (dps bonus, att speed, etc...) which would fade either after a few seconds or right after getting up.

The purpose is to privilegiate the active playing, not the AFK camping. So it is annoying for people who prone and don't AFK but your idea would privilegiate too much AFK Sfaats and co.

But well you still can to stand up then re-prone to get the bonus back.

I may do this buff soon.

Dunno, how much prone changed since that last discussion but here's my 51 cent.
I wonder why you hate "afk-camper players" so much? War is war, and some specialists (like, mentioned auto-rifles (dunno why u no call them heavy support or gunner, auto-rifle sounds weird tbh), SFAAt's or SDM's) are prone to have some afk-ing aspect to them. Even Warwalker basically becomes a glorified stationary turret at east of Thalim, but that's topic for other discussion.
1. My point is, prone shouldn't give temporary buff. Once you hit the deck, you actually shoot worse, not better. Aforementioned sarge shouting you to hug the ground will result in you wasting 1-3 seconds to gather your shit together and point weapon towards the enemy.
2. When fighting a horde of zombies that appeared right inside bush next to you, or kiting some boss-t1-monster, most players won't think "oh, it's good idea to trade my mobility for +5, +10 to damage". It proves fatal in some cases.
3. As mentioned before, some classes already have some temporary buff with rapid/w/e-shot modes.
4. If you don't want to just flat out give it some needed permanent boost to dmg/crits/attack speed, here is another possible variation - "Dig in" - Instead of just lying on the ground, soldier actually fortifies his position:
- When going prone, soldier gets penalty of -10% max dmg, -2 armor, -10% Aspeed, -3 range.
- Each 1 second he receives a stacking buff of +5% dmg, +0.5 armor, +4% Aspeed, +1 range.
- And max stacks is 6, for example. So at max stacks he has +20% dmg, +1 armor, 14% Aspeed, +3 range. After being prone for 6 seconds. Numbers are adjustable, ofc, so is stacking, but you get the point.
- Being prone gives you same Mspeed de-buff, but if you use sprint, it cancels automatically. You may lose stacks for moving too much, though.
I do realise that it goes in different direction from what you want, but that's how prone usually works.

Even if prone needs rework, it should be less complicated than putting debuff + stick some timed buff in it to give "so-so" result.

The point is to privilegiate the active temporary pronings, not the camp (SFAATs and LNs don't need such a buff for an example). Because in such cases you take a risk, while camping you don't really risk anything except if there is no kyter but it is an other topic gameplay side.

Thanks for your point of view but your idea does the opposite. And this new prone has been released for long. It is why it is in the category "Done". :)
